On May 2nd through the 8th families all over the world will be participating in Screen-Free week. During this time kids are encouraged to abstain from cell phones, computers, TV and gaming devices and instead spend time reading books, exploring, play family board games and connect with family and friends.
During this week, Fort Boards is partnering with one of the most kid friendly restaurants in Seattle, the Phinney Market Pub and Eatery, to help get more families to participate in Screen-Free Week. Fort Boards will be offering 25 dollar gift cards to any of the dining youth that are willing to stay off of their phones and gaming devices during the meal time. These gift cards can be used for purchase of Fort Board kits on the Fort Boards website.
Technology is wonderful and has improved our lives in many ways but it is also important to interact with others during meal times and to share conversations. Together, Fort Boards and the Phinney Market Pub and Eatery hope that we can offer a friendly reminder to families that even in a digital world real connections are the best.
