Some of you have heard by now (we certainly have been trying to tell everyone!) that Fort Boards is a finalist in Microsoft's Small Business Contest. We are one of 10 finalists and the winner is being decided upon by public voting (done through this Facebook link). They were showing the live results and we were winning at that time. Microsoft has since stopped showing the live results since they want the winner to be a secret until they announce it.
We've been getting an overwhelming amount of support and it's hard to believe that a little toy company from Seattle that makes these fort building kits for kids could be beating out some pretty well established businesses. But, as we often say here, "Who doesn't love forts?"
In addition to support from friends, family, and Fort Boards fans, we've also received support from local media wanting to share our story, like the Ballard News-Tribune, and also our shared work space neighbors at WeWork.
Even if we don't win, this process has been energizing and has really reinforced our belief that this is one of the best toys on the market. You all believe in us and because of you, we're going to cross that finish line as winners. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. (And please go vote again!)
